Lake Street
San Francisco's very own Lake District (not to be confused with England's) is named after Lake Street, which is the border between the neighborhood and the Presidio. People move to the Lake for good schools, large, 100-year-old homes, and access to the open spaces of the Presidio, Baker Beach, and the Presidio Golf Course. Nearby, Mountain Lake Park offers tennis and basketball courts, along with a playground for younger children.
Shopping and dining is plentiful along Clement Street, known for its variety of inexpensive ethnic restaurants, its produce markets, and specialty stores.
